What a Couple of Weeks!!

The last couple of weeks have been very chaotic! It all started with me getting sick with the flu. Of course with my luck, I got sick on Saturday so there was no daycare for Ethan. I felt bad bothering Karthik so I recruited some of my friends to take Ethan so I could spend Sunday under the covers shivering. Not only were they nice enough to take him, but they brought me Gatorade and Sprite...though for some reason they refused to come inside. ;) After about a week I was much better (minus a cough that won't seem to go away). Sadly, Ethan then decided he wanted to be a copy cat and get sick, though he chose to come down with a cold which turned into croup. As you can imagine Karthik and I were very, very scared about the way he was breathing and coughing. We decided it would be best if I slept in his room for a few days just to monitor him. It was during this time that I realized that nothing makes you feel more homesick than a sick baby. It was so heartbreaking to watch him cough until he was about to throw up. On the bright side, just like Mommy he is better now (minus a runny nose and slight cough). Karthik 2 days before his first big test of the semester decided he did not want to be left out and got sick. Unfortunately, he is still sick. He has a bad cough and is hoarse. We get a lot of looks when we go out. All of us still have our coughs so people try and keep their distance. Despite the fact the he was sick; he kicked butt on the Mini. He got all A's and one B. I'm so proud of him.

In the midst of everyone being sick, I did manage to go to Sari Sari Falls. When Philip and Lauren were here we tried to go there but were informed by the locals not to go because of the rain. I am so glad we listened to them! I know what they were talking about now. You have to cross the river which is up to your waist 3 times. Sari Sari has become one of my favorite places. I wish that we would have been able to go with Philip and Lauren. It was awesome. It was about a 45 minute hike to the fall. Once you got there you had to climb some very slippery rocks to get to the base of the fall. The spray coming off of it was unbelievable! I would have taken more pictures but I did not want to get the camera wet!

I brought Ethan’s old duck bathtub to a friend’s house thinking that Ethan and her son, Joshua would play in it. It turns out that I got half of it right. Joshua loved it! He was quacking with the duck and climbing in and out of the water! Ethan on the other hand….not so much. He really did not want anything to do with the duck. He did however; go back inside my friend’s house where he discovered Joshua’s half eaten waffle which he promptly ate the rest of.

Yes, I Finally Updated My Blog....

One night Ethan started to cry, so we went in to check on him after he fell back asleep and this is what we found...
Our friends broke a confetti egg over Ethan's head!

These were Ethan's bunny ears for the Spring Carnival.

What can I say, he likes hats....

Well it's been a while since I have posted anything! Sorry about that...though I haven't been away from my blog as long as others (Brad). Things have been going pretty good. Karthik passed his first year of medical school! Yaaay! He has also become a TA for second semester anatomy. He is hoping that by tutoring, he will be able to retain the information better so that he can do better on the steps.
By the way, videos of Ethan are sprinkled in this posting. For some reason it just puts them in randomly. I probably could have sat here and figured it out but I'm far to lazy to do that.
:) Enjoy :)

For those of you who don't know....My baby is walking! He is so good at it! You can tell he is so proud of himself. He loves to be chased, he finds it hilarious!

Ethan's first birthday was a lot of fun. On the day of his actual birthday, I brought cupcakes to his class and we all sang him happy birthday. Karthik was in the middle of taking a test so he was not able to be there :(

Yes, he HATES getting wiped off!

Since Ethan's birthday fell in the middle of Karthik's finals, we had his birthday party a week after his birthday. Uncle Philip and Aunt Lauren flew in just in time for the party! We had his party at the pool, though I did not manage to get one picture of the pool...go figure.

While Philip and Lauren were here we had tons of fun exploring the island! We got to see tons of waterfalls and did a lot of hiking.

We also had some family pictures taken. We are both very happy about how they turned out!
